IS THERE AN EASY SOLUTION?

EndoVenous Laser Ablation (EVLT) is a revolutionary treatment for eliminating varicose veins. While many people think of bulging, blue varicose veins as a cosmetic nuisance, these veins are a common medical condition.

Varicose veins occur when valves in the greater saphenous vein malfunction and leak, allowing blood to flow backward or reflux in a reversed fashion. As blood accumulates under pressure, the branch veins which are closer to the surface of the skin become enlarged and appear twisted and rope-like.

This problem is common, affecting 1 out of 2 people age 50 and older, and 15-20 percent of adults of all ages.

Varicose veins can cause aching or burning leg pain, night cramps, fatigue, and leg heaviness or restlessness, due to the pressure on the nerves from dilated veins. If left untreated, nearly 30 percent of patients with significant varicose veins will experience worsening symptoms or development of a more serious medical condition, characterized by leg swelling eczema, pigmentation, hemorrhage and ulceration. Early treatment for varicose veins is highly recommended to prevent progression to more serious problems.

EndoVenous Laser Treatment is a state of the art minimally invasive technology which has been developed to treat varicose veins with outcomes superior to other available treatments. EVLT uses new laser technology to close the greater saphenous vein safely and effectively and address the underlying source of the problem without hospitalization, general anesthesia, or the risks associated with open surgical procedures.

It is a 45 minute in-office procedure performed via a time access point which enables patients to return to normal activity immediately with little pain and cures the problem rather than just slowing its progression.

EVLT has an excellent clinical and aesthetic results that are far superior to traditional treatments. Not to mention that it has the longest published follow-up data available which has shown a success rate of 98 percent at one month follow-up and 93.4 percent at two-year follow-up.

The good news is that the EVLT is currently covered by most insurance companies if proven to be a medical necessity.

If interested in excellent results with EVLT I recommend having the outpatient procedure performed by a vascular surgeon with experience with laser technology.
